Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

At CBRE, diversity, equity and inclusion are more than just core values; they are a competitive advantage. We are creating a better future for our company by creating an environment where everyone is valued, recognized for their contributions, and given the opportunity to grow.

One of the most effective ways we foster diversity and inclusion is through the ongoing support of our Employee Resource Groups (EBRGs), which have more than 12,000 members in the U.S. and 16,000 worldwide.

CBRE promotes on a daily basis a QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety and Environment) policy and all associated good practices in order to reduce health and safety risks for all our stakeholders. Objectives and targets are set for our company and are reviewed at regular intervals. In France, for example, on our general contracting sites, we are accompanied by an external partner to be regularly audited on our QHSE practices.

Our EMEA management system dedicated to Health and Safety is based on the OHSAS 18001 standard (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment) and enables us to meet all the regulatory obligations to which we are subject in the various countries where we operate.

CBRE cultivates the company's talent by investing heavily in employee training. The percentage of training expenditure in relation to the total payroll at CBRE is over 3%. At CBRE, we develop the potential of each of our employees. Each year, we provide them with more than 11,000 hours of training, an average of 14 hours per year per employee. Each year, new e-learning training modules must be completed by all our employees.

CBRE is a pioneer on wellness issues in real estate. Our Los Angeles headquarters was the first project in the world to be WELL certified in 2013.

In 2016, CBRE announced a strategic alliance with DELOS in promoting this certification. After our L.A. site, it is the turn of Toronto, Madrid, Barcelona, Vancouver... to join the process. Deploying this certification in our workspaces with the help of our employees was an opportunity to better understand the qualitative notion of well-being in real estate and to structure an operational approach that we now offer to our clients in their real estate projects.

Safety and Well-Being in the Workplace

Employee wellness is integral to all of our strategic decisions, so that our employees enjoy a caring corporate culture and go home safe and sound at the end of each workday. We set global standards and policies, cultivate present, exemplary and accountable leadership, continuously improve our safety goals and share our achievements as a thought leader on user experience.

CBRE Cares

In France, CBRE is a founding member of the "Entreprise et convivialité" association and actively supports the values of this initiative. At our sites in the Paris region and elsewhere, we regularly organize social events for all our employees, such as Candlemas and the Fête de la Musique.

CBRE has set up a company concierge service to make employees' daily lives easier, and sophrology classes are offered free of charge to employees.
